Wow – it’s now three years since this project began and our investors took the Bay Horse back into local ownership. We can hardly believe it. We have made it through the ups and downs of our first couple of years in business (not to mention the odd pandemic) and we are still here!
We would like to express our thanks to everyone – in the village and beyond – who has supported us. We hope you have all enjoyed yourselves as much as we have enjoyed serving you.
A kitchen fire in Autumn 2016 forced the Bay Horse to close. The owners wanted to sell it for residential development, but fearing they would lose their pub forever, the villagers stepped in and raised almost half a million pounds to purchase the property.
Volunteers worked tirelessly to repair and renovate the building, and the new tenants have refitted and refurbished throughout. You can see a selection of before and after pictures here.
